Our Story

Meihua was born from a simple but powerful realization: Chinese beauty, culture, and ingredients have long shaped the foundations of skincare, yet rarely been seen through the lens of modern luxury in the West. As a Chinese American, I created Meihua to challenge that narrative — to redefine what “luxury skincare” looks like when it is rooted in heritage, not diluted by it.

At the heart of Meihua is my grandmother, whose presence shaped not only my upbringing, but the soul of this brand. She cooked with sea cucumber, spoke of its restorative properties as everyday wisdom, and embodied a quiet, resilient form of beauty that stayed with me long after childhood. Meihua is an homage to her — and to the generations of Chinese knowledge, care, and sacrifice that often go unseen but are deeply felt.

But Meihua is also personal. I have experienced insecurity, identity struggles, and the pressure of not always seeing myself reflected in the beauty world I grew up in. This brand became a way to transform that experience into something meaningful — a space where Chinese heritage is not simplified, but elevated; not hidden, but honored.

Inspired by the plum blossom, Meihua represents resilience, renewal, and quiet strength. It is a philosophy of beauty that is not just about appearance, but about confidence, emotional grounding, and self-worth. Each formula is designed to reflect that belief — combining heritage botanicals, sea-cucumber bioactives, and modern biotechnology to create skincare that is both sensorial and scientifically refined.

To me, Meihua is the beginning of something larger than skincare. It is the start of a legacy — one rooted in representation, cultural pride, and the belief that beauty can be a form of strength. My hope is that it empowers people to feel renewed in their own skin, confident in who they are, and connected to a deeper story of beauty that spans generations.
